A brief look at the history of Widmer Interiors.

Widmer, Inc. was founded in 1964 by Merle G. Widmer with its primary focus on filing systems. From 1964 to 1992, Widmer grew to a multi-divisional office mart offering a broad spectrum of office products and services throughout a 22 county central Illinois territory. In March of 1992, Herb and Nancy Stoller purchased the Company and, beginning in early 1993, Widmer started on a plan to narrow its focus to those activities that continued to show potential for future growth. Retail office supply stores were phased out in late 1993 and early 1994, along with the sale of a small office machine repair service. In December 1993, Widmer sold its contract office supply division.
As a result of these changes, Widmer now focuses on Office & Healthcare furnishings, Interior Design Services, Filing & Storage and Floor Covering throughout Central Illinois.  In October 2006, the next generation in the Stoller family, Winston Stoller and Frank Gutwein, purchased the company and will continue the stewardship of this family business.
